A government source leaked that Daniel Ortega’s regime ordered “monitoring and capture” against the indigenous representative Brooklyn Rivera Bryan, from the same day that his former political ally challenged him, by illegally entering the country, after he ordered his exile.nnThe arrest of the indigenous leader has unleashed anger in the Northern Caribbean area, where his party has influence.

Even on social networks, there are calls for mobilizations to demand his release. Meanwhile, the latest news is that Rivera Bryan was taken to Managua in a vehicle other than a police patrol to circumvent the siege of his followers.

The order to capture him given by the regime was carried out a few hours ago, according to relatives of the deputy originally from the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua. What is known until now is that he was arrested this Friday by agents of the regime, according to a confirmation from his daughter, Tininiska Rivera on social networks.

Family does not know whereabouts of Brooklyn Riveran

The capture of Rivera, an old ally of the Sandinista Front, occurred in the municipality of Bilwi, on the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua, reported sources from the Yapti Tasba Masraka Nanih Aslatakanka party, Yatama, a political group founded by Rivera.nn“At this time my father Brooklyn Rivera has been detained by the Nicaraguan National Police, I do not know his whereabouts or anything that happens to his current physical and mental integrity,” the politician’s daughter wrote online.

Rivera Bryan damaged her relations with the Sandinista National Liberation Front when she claimed that the regime had banished an indigenous leader at a United Nations forum. On April 24, Immigration and Immigration officials prohibited his entry into Nicaragua, who would arrive in the country after participating in the forum in New York, where they addressed the situation of indigenous communities.

Then, in mid-May of this same year, the indigenous leader surprised Nicaraguans by publishing a video on social networks, where he expressed that he was in Nicaragua after entering through “a blind spot.” Since then, he remained hidden in La Mosquitia (The Caribbean) because he said it was his right to remain in the country. “I am in La Mosquitia de Nicaragua because this is my territory,” Rivera said in the published video.

Brooklyn Rivera ally and betrayed…

In 2017, after returning as a deputy for Yatama in 2016, after he was stripped of his position in 2015, Rivera supported the Ortega party in the re-elections of Sandinista officials, including that of Lumberto Campbell, magistrate of the Supreme Electoral Council, CSE.

“Lumberto is a man from the coast who has a personal friendship with me and we believe that he is treatable on a personal level and we can communicate,” Rivera declared when questioned about his vote.nnPreviously, in 2022, during the regional elections on the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua, the Yatama party denounced “electoral fraud” and accused the Supreme Electoral Council of favoring the Sandinista Front in the elections.

In this way, the Caribbean party was stripped of all the mayoralties, but later allied itself with the same dictator who now has it kidnapped despite its parliamentary immunity.
